The Canada visitor visa is applied for online. Officers look closely at your money, job and family ties, so we make sure your file tells a clear and honest story.
This checklist is for Pakistani passport holders applying from Pakistan. If you live in another country, the process and documents can be different.
What IRCC requires (visitor visa)
- A passport valid for at least 6 months from your travel date, with copies of the photo page and any stamped or visa pages
- The online application through the IRCC portal
- Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at a visa application centre, after you receive the instruction letter
- The visa processing fee and the biometrics fee
Documents IRCC recommends
- Bank statements for at least the last 6 months, showing the bank’s name and contact details
- An employer letter on letterhead, dated within 3 months, with your job, salary and your manager’s contact details
- Your travel history: previous passports and visas
- Your itinerary: flight details and proof of accommodation
- An invitation letter and proof of relationship if you are visiting family or friends
Good to know
- Book your biometrics appointment as soon as you get the instruction letter, so your file is not delayed.
- The visa office may ask for more documents depending on your case.
