For a Canada study permit you need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution. We help you build a file with a clear study plan and strong funding.
This checklist is for Pakistani passport holders applying from Pakistan. If you live in another country, the process and documents can be different.
What IRCC requires (study permit)
- A letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution, validated by your school
- A provincial or territorial attestation letter (PAL/TAL) in most cases, or a CAQ if you will study in Quebec
- A copy of your valid passport, and two recent passport-size photos
- Proof that you can support yourself and any family coming with you
- Biometrics
Documents you may also need
- A letter of explanation saying why you want to study in Canada (recommended)
- A medical exam, if IRCC asks for one
- A police certificate, if IRCC asks for one
- Academic transcripts and English test results (IELTS or similar), as your school requires
Good to know
- The amount of money you must show is set by IRCC and changes from time to time. We check the current figure before you apply.
