Qatar has been one of the easier Gulf destinations for Pakistani travellers, but the entry rules have been reported differently at different times in 2026. Because of that, the safest approach is to check the official source just before you buy a ticket.
What the rules looked like at the time of writing
Travel sources that quote the Qatar Ministry of Interior say that Pakistani nationals are listed for a free tourist visa on arrival, for up to 30 days or the length of the hotel booking. Other reports during the year mentioned a suspension linked to the situation in the region. Since these accounts do not agree, treat none of them as final. Confirm on the Ministry of Interior visa portal and the Discover Qatar website before you travel.
Documents commonly asked for
- Passport valid for at least three months
- Confirmed return ticket
- Hotel booking made through the official Discover Qatar platform, as the ministry states other sites are not accepted for this category
- Health insurance from an accredited provider
- Enough money for your stay
Visit visa is not a work visa
A tourist visa does not allow you to work. If you plan to take up a job, you need the correct employment visa arranged through your employer.
How to avoid problems
- Check the rule again a few days before you fly, not only when you book
- Do not pay anyone for a visa on arrival, since it is free where it applies
- Keep printed copies of the hotel booking, ticket and insurance
- Use the official portals only
